Personal History
Before Starfleet
Rebecca had an uneventful childhood. She was raised by her mother as her Father was heavily involved with his work for Starfleet. Her Father compensated for his absences by giving her lots of gifts, including nano-bots that could change her hair color. She enjoyed what little time she spent with her father and decided to follow in his footsteps by studying Engineering. As Rebecca came of age her Mother began to school her in the arts of being a Geisha, even though neither of her parents wanted her to go down that road.
At the age of 18 Rebecca was kidnapped for several months by a group trying to force her father to work for them. During her time in captivity she was abused by her kidnappers. A daring rescue brought her freedom, but she was left feeling helpless. In order to combat these fears she decided to forego her Engineering training and enlisted in the Marines.
Career Summary
After Basic her previous studies in engineering were put to use as Rebecca worked and trained as a Combat Engineer. As her proficiency and confidence grew she found herself moving quickly up the promotional ladder. Rebecca took all the extra training she could, becoming an expert in explosives as well as small craft.
When Rebecca was 23 her father was reported killed in the line of duty, but no body was ever found or returned. She began receiving hidden messages from him that indicated something was going to happen and that all would not be as it appeared.
Her career as a Marine was going very well and her superiors noticed her natural leadership abilities. As such she was considered for officer training school. During a regional dispute Rebecca volunteered to stay in a hot zone and defuse a bomb. As a result of her decision she found herself caught up in some extremely heavy fighting. During a particularly nasty firefight she was hit by incoming fire and her right arm was gravely injured. Starfleet Medical was unable to save the badly mauled limb. The arm was amputated and replaced with a cybernetic one. Rebecca decided against having the arm covered with artificial skin.
Starfleet Marines are rarely ever idle and she quickly found herself back in action. Soon after returning to duty Rebecca found herself in a tight skirmish and for the first time in her life she froze. As a result she was offered a desk job, but refused it and took a transfer to become an Engineering Officer.
After a long stint on the USS Swiftsure, Rebecca accepted reassignment on the USS Poseidon and later on the USS Avalon NCC 76262-A, in the wake of her commanding officer and most of the Senior Staff.
