The Poseidon's Fighter contingent consists of 4 squadrons containing 12 craft each. The squadrons are Multi-Role easily switching between the roles of Fighter or Bomber. Two squadrons specialize in Close Aerospace Support while the remaining two are superior Air Combat Units.

SMA-242 known, as The Bats are the top Close Aerospace Support unit aboard the Poseidon. They specialize in Air to Ground Operations priding themselves on being able to deliver their ordnance with pinpoint accuracy when friendly units are nearby.

Squadron Leader: Marine Captain Josephine "Jojo" Jones

SMA-225 known, as The Vikings are the Poseidon's Heavy Bomber Group. The Vikings can deliver devastating damage to threats with their heavily armed Gryphon-class Fighter/Bombers. These units are slower but more heavily shielded to allow them to deliver their payload of full-sized Photon Torpedoes.

Squadron Leader: Major Rebecca "Carrot" Hunter

SMA-121 known as The Green Knights represent the Poseidon's primary Aerospace Defense Squadron. They are responsible for most of the vessel's Combat Aerospace Patrols (CAP) This squadron is also schooled in reconnaissance procedures and carries out these missions with great skill.

Squadron Leader: Marine Captain Lincoln 'Lion' Cooper

SMA-11 known, as The Devilfish are Poseidon's best Aerospace Combat Squadron. The unit consists of several pilots that have completed Starfleet's Marine Aviation & Weapons Tactics Program.
