The Aerospace Pilot Uniform is a recent addition to the Starfleet standard duty set. These uniforms provide comfort, and protection to the pilot during flight operations. It is a one piece construction consisting of several layers. The first layer, which lies closest to the pilot's body, is made of materials designed to keep the pilots cool during flight. The second layer contains a kevlar nanopolymer offering superior protection to the pilot. The surface layer consists of standard replicated fabrics. The Pilot uniform contains no rank insignia to protect the pilot should they be forced to land in hostile territory. A standard communicator is fitted to the chest in the normal position.

The uniform is outfitted with a transparent aluminum helmet which attaches via a shoulder mounted magnatomic adhesion system. Coupled with protective gloves and magnatomically adhered boots, this provides the pilot and weapon's officer with an enclosed life-support system in the event of canopy breach.

During normal flight operations aboard the Poseidon, half of the vessel's pilots wear the flight jumpsuit to facilitate quicker response time during emergencies.
