SPECIAL WEAPONS ARMORY

The Special Weapons Armory houses the Poseidon's Advanced Personnel Weapons Systems. Protected by a constant Security presence and active force fields, the SWA is one of the most secure areas of the ship. Within its walls are enough destructive devices to level a small city. Examples include:

The Tetryon Pulse Launcher is an anti-personnel weapon utilizing the same shoulder mount design as the Isomagnetic Disintegrator. The TPL fires high energy tetryons that not only cause explosive damage to the target but also has the added benefit of temporarily disabling directed energy weapons. This makes the TPL an excellent denial weapon in combat. It's counterpart the IMD is a shoulder mounted artillery piece used to disable armored vehicles or destroy fortifications. It's portability also makes it an excellent weapon against airborne targets.

The Transport Inhibitor is a device that prohibits adversaries from materializing or dematerializing objects or persons within a specific area. It is used to secure encampments against enemy incursions or provide an added layer of security to objects of value.

The newly minted Heavy Duty Phaser Rifle is based on an old design. Known in the mid 22nd century as the 'MACO Rifle' the HDPR is a ruggedized design that has come into favor among Starfleet Marine Units. It's compact design and hardened exterior has increased the weapon's reliability under less than ideal conditions. The duel grips and retractable stock provide added stability while firing. A retractable scope mounted within the body of the weapon give the user access to range and targeting data. A high intensity light is mounted beneath the barrel providing illumination directly where the weapon is pointed. The HDPR does suffer a shortened range as opposed to the standard Phaser Rifle III which prompted the creation of a 'Sniper' variant that has a lengthened pre-fire chamber and better scope.
